Our Aproach
At Acropolis, we are pioneering a new approach to publishing. Not that we think the old method of publishing books, centred around some big established companies in London, is bad. In fact, we run our own traditional commercial publisher, Canbury Press, which specialises in 'trade' non-fiction. But that approach does not fit every book.
Indeed, we set up Acropolis because we were frustrated that we couldn't publish some high-quality manuscripts conventionally. We take advantage of new technology and marketing to create greater opportunities for authors – and reward them with royalty rates above the industry average.
Given our expertise in non-fiction, we focus on authors of memoir, biography and autobiography, history and business, though we will consider other factual genres (except for children's or religious books).
We launched in 2024 and are now looking for authors in 2025 and beyond.
Our Promise
We know that publishing can come across as old-fashioned, off-putting, distant and even baffling to newcomers. So we promise not to bamboozle you with lots of industry terms (if we accidentally use any jargon, please ask what it means – or check our Questions and Answers).
We want to make excellent factual books. If you have one, we want to hear from you. Email contact@acropolispublishing.co.uk
